Apex Firmware 4.20 Officially Released

Neptune released the last RC as the official new firmware today: http://www.neptunesystems.com/firmware-update-version-4-20/

I've been running the betas/RCs for a while now and only had a few issues that I'm aware of:

1) Web dashboard wouldn't run right in IE 9, so I had to use FireFox
2) On one update things went wonky and took me a couple hours to get it running right again

I'm going to reflash with the 'official' release and see if it is any different than what I have now.

Well, that depends. I for one think this release is over-hyped. Sure, there's a new dashboard, you can drag the tiles around, etc. And you can use an IP Camera on a tile to get a video feed (or still feed) of your tank. Other than that I don't think there is much new No new programming functionality, doesn't seem any faster to me, probably slower if anything.

I've upgraded just to upgrade... I like living on the edge (and wasting hours fixing crap when it doesn't work!).

Overall, I think the upgrade process is pretty painless. Just follow their directions to clear your cache and stuff. Then do the firmware and web page updates. Just to be safe I'd save off your current programming before doing anything.

not too sure if i have the newest firmware or not but i bought the apex used almost a month ago and it can do all of this... is there a chance i already have the latest firmware? i myself didnt update it.

Perhaps the person you got it from installed a beta version. If you go to the web 'Configuration' page and select 'Network Setup', then scroll down you should see the version; something like this:

AquaController Version 4.20J_CA12

NOTE: That's the latest version after I reinstalled the 'release'.

Still doesn't work right in IE9.

I updated and had no issues, but the dashboard only loads half the page?? I am not going to mess with it because I will go nuts. I still havnt tried to set my Radions up with my Mac for that very reason.

Works fine for me with FireFox, but the main page is all screwy with IE9. Which browser are you using? Did you try any others?
