So its overpriced charcoal.
A couple years ago there were pics on FB group that's usually pretty accurate for industry information that showed the garbage that was mixed in.

I used it up to six months and then I removed the carbon media and then I replaced it. It keeps my water, super clear and balanced.
I actually used it for a couple of years. It’s super great and it’s cheap. Well it was cheap when I bought it back in the day. I don’t know how much is it now

Right now it’s overpriced probably I’m not sure but I’ve used it for a couple years and I loved it. My corals were super healthy. My water was super crystal clear.

Are you going based off what you see or have you done any testing of your parameters? If so id love to know what your ph results are

From what I’ve seen, there’s nothing in those videos that convinces me this product works any better than standard activated carbon. There’s no research or data to back up the claims...just a lot of “trust me” sales talk.
I’ve had moderate success with my reef by sticking to the basics: consistency and careful monitoring of water parameters. I’m not a professional reefer or trying to sell anything, just sharing personal experience. I do run activated carbon on a regular basis (about once a month). It helps reduce toxins and dissolved organic compounds that build up over time. Does it directly boost coral growth or overall health? Hard to say, but in my experience, the effect is minor. The real foundation of a healthy, vibrant reef is still good husbandry—stable parameters and consistent care.
As for this product, I’d want to see proper testing in a controlled environment across different tank setups before drawing any conclusions to employ Aqua Char in my reef. The story of someone inventing it overseas for water purification sounds interesting, but without hard evidence after years of supposed use, it’s fair to question its actual effectiveness. Add in the high price point compared to traditional carbon, and it’s tough to justify trying it without proof of real benefits.

It works for me. I started using it two years ago when I paid $34 that feeds 100 gallons. when the price was not expensive like the other Reefer said $59 for a cup. my breeding set up. The water comes out super crystal clear. and I don’t have to do water changes for six months. That’s what I love about it..
Yes, I looked at the prices two days ago. Which shocked me because the price have boosted up. It’s expensive. Carbon media. It’s like everything else is going up in prices.
I also use it in my Reef tank.
I'm glad you're having success and that you've had great luck with a product. We all tend to do things differently in this hobbyb which isnt a bad thing. But this product quite literally has no backing to prove anything also barely any videos from known and reputable hobbyists which is what I find so off for something to work so well and no real stats
