Are Freshwater Mysis safe for Saltwater Fish

Hi all,

I have been given 4 packages of Frozen Freshwater Mysis.

Does anyone know if they are safe to feed to Saltwater fish ? Anything I should be concerned over ?

I feel they should be fine, no problem to use for my salt tank, but the question was asked of me and it got me wondering.

So what do you all think ?

Are they PE Mysis shrimp? If so, it's one of the best food for your fish.

Any of that help ?

Am I right in assuming that "Marine Tropical Fish" are the saltwater fish we all keep in our tanks ?


If so, then I've found the answer hidden in the directions on the back of the package that says "...for all tropical and marine tropical fish..."

Piscine Energetics = PE.
Yes, they're excellent food for your saltwater fish. I & many people here use it all the time. It's actually my preferred brand for mysis shrimp. I think members here did a group buy on it a few times before.

THe lower salt content of the FW mysis, I've read, is supposed to be beneficial to the fish which is always fighting off the osmotic pressure of a saltwater environment.:

"SODIUM FREE
"As fish don't need to eliminate excess salt, it's easier on their systems. Most other brands offer a coastal, or marine cousin of Mysis relicta."

Yup, IMO PE mysis is about the best fish food I know of. I consider it to be much better than any other brand of mysis I've used.
