This is a major Thank You to Logan at Reefbreeders for donating
a PhotonV2 48” to Durfee High School’s Marine Science Classes in Fall River, MA.
My wife is the principal teacher and curriculum writer for that class and has worked in this public High School for over 13 years now.
Members that shared with the kids in Fall River:
Today, Fred Robles donated two beautiful tank raised clownfish for the many anemones waiting for it in Fall River.
In December, Jason in Charlestown donated Acans, Zoas and three awesome flame wrasse and a gorgeous Tomini Tang.
Last year Paulo Pacheco donated live rock and sand and some powerheads.
I just want to let all know how appreciated this tank is. We have donated a lot of gear and time ourselves and the reef got started when my barber gave us the 90 gallon reef in his shop.
We all thank you very much!!!
The new DURFEE HIGH SCHOOL will be complete for the school year beginning
2021-2022. We believe the reef will be allowed in the brand new building. The Principal and Mayor both know my wife and love what she is doing. Her class enrollment has increased each of the last three years she has taught this course by roughly one third more students each year. Another science staff member was given sections she could not cover already and another could join next year.
We have local animals too, two other tanks.
We can offer letters acknowledging the value of donations. These can be tax deductible depending on your personal or business situation.
In prep for the move, we are entertaining tank donations. This is still over a year out, but if we have something lined up, construction on the building is not complete and depending on size and scope, might be worked in with the correct planning. If anyone has a nice tank, preferably larger than 90 gallons, that they can donate, please reach out. Gear to support the tank, lights, skimmer, pumps, sump, etc... would all be greatly appreciated as well. Reach out to me with a private message. Again, many thanks!
