banggais might become illegal

i just read that the nmfs wants to make banggai cardinals listed as an endangered species. this would mean that they would no longer be available in the trade. there would not be a distinction between captive bred and wild banggais. apparently it would be too complicated to regulate the sale of banggais if they distinguished wild from captive bred. so what happens now if you already own banggais?

Everything gets threatened all the time. Ban this ban that tax this tax that. Might be a matter of time, but every month there's a new issue brought up and nothing has ever come of any of it in the 5 years i've been reefing. Remember when they were gonna ban Euphylia? My point exactly.

If you own them already, you keep them in your tank. What would you do with them?

Nothing, you just watch them till they live out their life.
