Best lighting for FO?

Armando

v 4.0
What is a good lighting for FO tanks that won't promote algae growth and heat?

Black light? ;)
I have 9.2k NO bulbs over my fuge. I get some algae, but not much

PC's or VHO (I would do URI VHO's) Actinic 03 and Aqua Sun 10K's nice color mix. The fish don't care but I think this would look the best.

Actually HD sells some Daylight NO bulbs, may be worth a try

No light at all. Wear a night-vision goggles.

I think the best light for fish only is normal output fluorescence.

I have spare 48 inch, 30 inch and 20 inch hood.

On my heavily stocked 90 I have a 30" twin tube NO strip light with one actinic and one old powerglow. I rarely turn them on because the tank get light from the windows during the day. If I need/want to view the fish at night I flip it on. I have no algae. When it's on, it gives plenty of light to see the fish. Keep it simple
