Right now I have sro 1000int but I don't like it must and I only have it for 2 mont now and I want to know what is another best skimmer out there i would spend 300 to 500 for a skimmer so please give me some input on which brand is good and worth the money thanks

Love my reef octopus extreme. Had a bunch of others in the past and like this one the best of all

I have a super reef octopus 3000 and love it. It's very powerful and skims like a champ. Best skimmer I've had.

I have a Reef Dynamics 150 -- love it; skims like a beast. Every now and then (and by that, I mean every 10-15 days) it start going crazy though ... water shooting out of the venturi, and gates of hell open. Once I figure out the cause of it, it'll be the best skimmer EVER! :-D

what did you not like about the SRO? I have a SRO 2000int and it works well. It took me a while to figure out what depth to put it in but once I figured that out it worked well.

I could never figure out the deep of my 1000int sro, one week
It do goodand the next day I have to adjust it again
And clean the cup out every day buc is full and the skimemate is not dark at all

I have a Hydor Performer 705 and so far it's working well. This is my first skimmer so I don't have anything to compare it to. Took a little time to get it dialed in right but now it just chugs along.

Yea it took me a while to get the right depth. Now it seems to work well. If I put my hand in the tank a lot or do lots of cleaning in a water change I have had the over flow problem but I have mine drain into a separate container that has a pressure switch that shuts it down when full, made by avast marine, that helps. Did you buy it new or used? How old is it? Might be worth contacting the octopus people and see if they have any ideas if it's not to old.

haha my dad gave me his old one from like the early 1990's and im at work right now so i cant tell you the name but its a black beast that removes everything, all of the inorganic solids better watch out. the body is a black cylinder with a collection cup on top and a 450 GPH pump that is huge. its one of those products built to last and i bet you could drop it off a building and it would still work

Any one in here have the sor 1000int skimmer ? And what you guy have for water deep for the skimmer. Thanks

I have one that I really am impressed with. My water depth is 5.5 " as recommended by the manufacturer. Still took me a few days to really dial it in and then a few minor adjustments but thats fairly common with most skimmers. The most important thing is making sure the water level is constant.

i have the SRO XP 1000sss so it may be a slight bit different on water level required.

I have a SRO XP1000-SSS. Skims great. I have it at a water level of about 7 inches.

here a video on my skimmer. my skimmer make alot of big bubble and i just want to know if that normal ?

The water drop you have going into the skimmer section may be contributing to the problem.thats making a ton of micro bubbles.other than that it looks to be working

U mean my water level is to deep for the skimmer is that why is make the big bubble ?

No..I men the water coming into the skimmer chamber is falling looks to be 6 inches or so.theres just too much turbulance in the skimmer section

Thanks every one for give me
The input on the skimmer. I finally have my skimmer working it best buc I have find it best water deep level, it at 5.6 inch and is make Alot of micro bubble from the bottom to the top on the skimmer now I love it. Once again thank every one for the help :)

The holes let air in so that the simmer works properly. If your simmer is working and quiet it is fine.
