My name is Joe.. I'll celebrate my first year of reef/salt water keeping tomorrow after over 50 years of fresh water and pond keeping..my screen name is for the fish I most love.. the Striped bass... that being said... I joined in December, but work and a severe winter wore me down and took my "posting" time away... I currently run a mixed reef 75 gallon with a 30 gallon sump.... which houses the skimmer, filter sock and pump for GFO and Carbon reactors..it also has a port for my Kalkwasser reactor that is hooked to my ATO.. the middle section is a macro algae and mangrove infested 'fuge.. this all lives in my basement... the DT mainly contains mostly Soft corals and a few hardy LPS.. it also contains a foxface..flame angel ..yellow tailed bully ( tamed by the flame angel) as well as clowns( I know 3 is an odd number but it works) diamond spot gobie and a mandarin.. the pecking order has been set.. and all have lived relatively happy for the last 8 months.. the male mandarin takes Mysis and enriched brine shrimp as well as the live baby brine I feed and the pods that come from the refugium.... I'm still learning..experimenting and maturing my tank...In addition to the 75..I also. have a 20 G bow front that contains 2 Sea horses.. a blue spot goni.. coco worms.. cleaner clams.. a ringed cowrie.. and assorted mushrooms and gorgonians... upstairs I have a 60 gallon fresh water community tank with a huge angel and assorted "other " fish..
