ok so ive had my cube set up for a month and figured id buy the skimmer for it so i get it home put it together and im like where the hell does this thing go well ur supposed to take the filter out and use the skimmer instead im not sure if i like that idea so has anyone relocated either the filter or the skimmer? i was thinking about either putting the skimmer where its supposed to be and buy a small filter pad and put it ontop of where the water overflows on the bioballs or knocking the the plate out under the filter and sticking one in there i would love some help on this thank you

i have a nano cube it some what the same. and i dont use the filter pads or the bio balls at all. i have some cheato there my heater and my bio cube skimmer. i have the skimmer in the first chamber.

When I had my BC29, I put it in the first chamber with the suction cup holding it to the right hand wall. If you put it in the middle chamber like Oceanic says, it will always be running at a different water level due to evaporation. I did get some really nasty junk from it. I also cut a piece of egg crate and used it to hold filter floss over the middle chamber and ditched the bio-balls in it. I put some LR rubble in there instead. This is just what worked for me.

well what i did for now is i put theskimmer in the first chamber for now and put the filter behind it so the was a little filtration for now i know it wont do to much but i think i may either break the piece that sepperates the middle of the first chamber or get a small filter pad and put it in between or something just so there is still some sort of filtration or even see if i can get the heater in the first chamber and lay a filter pad over the second overflow chamber

what size biocube?

i also have a 14 biocube. i highly recomend "in-tank" media basket. i have the skimmer in the 1st chamber with my heater, then mediabasket in 2nd chamber, return pump 3rd chamber. i need an airpump for my skimmer, its not runing yet. but i think on your airline hose you should have an adjestment know to adjust the amout of air/bubble size your skimmer recives. hope that helps

$44 (seems a bit expsnive, but its amazing!, in the long run much cheaper to replace filter floss rather then the biocube filter pad)

i have it set up like suggested:

■1st: Filter Floss
■2nd: Purigen 100ml
■3rd: Chemi-Pure Elite 6.25oz

hope this helps out with your biocube build!

Oh off topic, but i have this and highly recomend it: (love the shimmer it gives, all my corals are happy (mixed reed, few sps frags, zoa

i definitely think i will buy the media basket it seems like it would be way better than just a skimmer and bio balls and the second link it says its not found

yes that worked thank you was that hard to instal ? and is it better than the lights it comes with i know theres 2 led bar slots u can supposedly buy different types of leds for it but i have yet to find any
