Tested out the snowblower and generator today and snowblower fired right up but not the generator... I have been wanting to upgrade to an inverter generator anyways and this was just the opportunity I needed!

Old 3500/4000W generator did my whole house and this new 11500W is tri-fuel and I plan to get a natural gas hookup so I never have to get a can of gas again!

and with 7,800 watts on natural gas will more than power my whole house and tank!

Worth the extra money to get tri-fuel as well since I have NG already and wanted the clean power and be a better neighbor as I always felt bad running open framed normal generator that was loud. I felt like I was shoving it in my neighbor's faces that I had power and they didn't with how loud it was!

That's awesome. That thing is massive. I wouldn't want to move that too often. I love the inverter generators for how quiet they are. I have one for my camper for when were boondocking and it works really well. I do have a Generac 6500 Watt that I use for the house. It is very noisy and I feel ya on rubbing it in your neighbors faces. You just have to invite them over for drinks!

I relied on a Honda 2200 Watt unit for several years and fortunately was always home to fling the cords when the need arose, but I travel for work and didn't know if my trophy wife was going to hook it all up if the lights went out while I was away. Just before Christmas I looked on Craigslist and found a great deal. Got a Honda 7.5Kw frame style,100" cord for 240/30A, and a manual transfer switch. Spent The Holidays installing it and got to turn the key and flip the switches yesterday. Took 2 minutes and now not worried with a storm coming. Best $1200 I ever spent!

I wish it ran on natural gas but happy with what I got. I expect the reliability to be better on NG powered unit as there's no gasoline to get old and funky. Let us know how that unit treats you after some time with it.

I would have loved a large automatic generator but can't justify the price. This was expensive for an inverter generator but once I build a DIY generator shed and permanently install electrical and gas lines underground my wife can turn 1-2 gas line valves, turn on the generator with the key FOB and then flip the interlock kit all from inside the house and that was a main reason I wanted this specific generator in case I'm not home. Luckily I work in the town I live in and even during a horrible storm I can typically get home in under 30 minutes and I have a battery backup for the return pump so I should be all set lol...

I plan to build an enclosure as well and hopefully hide it under the edge of a deck. I was looking the brand you got and they seem pretty solid. I'm not sure how far you need to run your gas line, but check Harbor freight, I think they had relatively long natural gas connection kits with quick connects. Digging gas lines can be a bummer in some towns.

I did some research and the brand has really good reviews and you can't beat the price. The only issue is it's only a 90 full warranty and the one or two year add on warranty is expensive but I might add it as I've heard of tons of people magically "developing" issues right before that extended period ends and you get a new generator no questions asked and then you just buy an additional 2 year add on warranty and rinse and repeat.

But for the price and size for this inverter generator and being able to use NG it's well worth it.

And HF sells a 25' NG line for $50 and I think initially I'll buy two and just have my plumber add a simple connection right after the gas meter for a few hundred bucks (if that) and then plan out the underground connections for the spring/summer.

I use the same one for my camper (much smaller though) and cant recommend them enough for the money! Luckily, my house has a whole-house stand-by propane unit so if the power ever does go out, I just have to sit back and wait 15 seconds haha
