BRS Echotech Radion Owners Thread

Ran my 2 Radions in natural mode and way to green still in sunrise/sunrise. Not sure why they use so much green for sunset/sunrise.

ecotech products are just amazing when they work together...........this is storm mode...waves are crazy!................i like the song too........

Just got my radion today! Hope to see the more advanced users graphs.

Ordered my radion yesterday.should have it in a few days.can't wait to start playing with it!

Got the radion finally after some shipping issues. the software is a little tricky to figure out at first but it looks amazing so far.never had shimmer before with the t5's.

careful, they dont like to get wet. not even a little splash. I had a hose let go during a water change and fried one of mine :(

That's unsettling if these Radions are that sensitive to getting wet. Last thing I want to do is spend this amount of money for such a fragile unit. Is this with all LEDs though or just Radions?

I do like them though but I am hoping there's a way to better protect from water.

i've had water splash on my radion before and it was fine.it all depends on where the water got to.it's not just led but with all lights.

Is there anywhere to download graphs?I couldn't find any on ecotecs website

Optimal height for Radions?

My two Radions came in today. I am making a canopy for my 75 gal RR tank and I would like to know what is the optimal height they should be mounted above the tank? Any help or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Check some of the major reefing sites. Pretty sure I remember seeing a thread with them.

I think a lot of it depends on your rock work. I have 3 towers that go pretty much to the top of my tank. In hind sight I probably should have mounted them a little higher. Mine are currently perpendicular to the front im going to be changing them to parallel.

Since they are going to be in a canopy maybe make them adjustable. My halides were mounted to a board. I had 3 ledges on each side of the canopy. It allowed me to move them up and down as needed. Was great when I got new bulbs or needed to have access to the tank.

I constantly splash mine even though I try not to.

I'm sure if I was more carful, it could be avoided but I still use the old "pour the bucket of new water into the dt" instead of being reasonable about the situation and using one of the 5+ pumps I have lying around.

I've got plenty of water in the fan, on the pucks and in the heat sink. I'm willing to bet the owner who hit his with a tube soaked his to the point of any fixture failing.

The splash mine took appeared to be on the surface in non sensitive areas. I think its likely that something shorted in the fan. Regardless, I could not be more pleased with the light and with the customer services. Just be careful its not a brainless pendant!!

ive read alot about these lights and seen quite a few in person now... i have never used leds, but ill be honest, i would love to have one or two of these...

great thread...

Ill have to say that the radion ws probly the best investment I've made for my tank.I've seen amazing growth in my corals since adding it.just the overall look of the tank is stunning now.the way that ramp up and down and not just turn on and off I think makes for a much healthier tank.kudos to ecotec for another outstanding product!

Can someone please tell me how to link my radion and mp40.I'm a dumbass when it comes to technology!

I posted in your other thread, I believe they sync automatically, if your radion is in night mode check to see if your vortechs are. They won't be in the user interface as far as I know.

I believe the option is in the advanced section of the radions software.
