Let's get some video interaction going on this forum. It'd be cool to to see everyone's systems showcased. I'd be willing to host on Zoom, Google Meet, YouTube etc as I've been down for count and have been watching my gf take care of my tank. We did something similar during COVID-19.
Who would want to kick this off?

Let me know i would love to chat hope your feeling better!

Mine either, but it'll get there with time.
It will! I actually did an hour long call with Rich Ross last week about flow. I think it was crippling my system. It seems to be doing better now after his help, but with the price of corals, it's going to take a while to look like a reef again!

I would be down to do this again! I could include a tour of the train layout right behind the tank too!!!

I found my uncle's Lionel trains from the 40's the other day. Gonna try and restore them.

I’m finally getting close on the system. I’m sure it won’t be a whole lot to look at when done but lots to talk about to get here and life lessons for other reefers :)

Mike what did you change that helped?

I'd do a video tour of my system. Or maybe I could record something in advance, post it to youtube then post a link here.

I can post a vid I took describing my "custom" Reef Octo CARX and how it works.

I changed the length of time between pumps. Before, I had a few pumps all on pulse mode and it was like they were fighting each other. Always chaos in the middle but nearly zero flow at the ends of the tank. So, I put a gyre on one end with an 8 second run time, 20 seconds at a time. Then a Jeboa DMP40 at the other end on every 15 seconds. This allows the wave to make it to the other end of the tank before the other pump kicks on. It also gives the pumps a different contact point for the waves throughout the day. It's only been like 3 or 4 days but the sand bed has cleared up significantly. One thing I don't like so far is the fact that there's like 10 seconds of both pumps being off. So I might throw in another couple pumps (something that I can angle) and do a shorter or longer cycle to fill in that dead time.

I like old school train stuff when they're restored and looking nice so good luck!

I would be up for hosting one of these
Just make sure I go before @Dave T or anyone else with a nicer tank so the club members aren't disappointed with my setup :ROFLMAO:
