Bubble algae

Emerald crab will also eat it.

What does one do with an emerald crab once the bubble muck is gone?

I had some forming there, and there. I just pluck them with tweezers from the base when i see one.
+1 I carefully pluck them out. If at all possible I take the rock out and then pluck it out.(you don't want to pop them) My emerald doesn't really touch them and I'm glad because I've always read they just spread it worse.

Why would you want to remove the emerald after anyways? I've had a couple emeralds in my tank for years, ones huge! Never seen anything bad??

If it is a small isolated area that you can get to with a dropper, I have ok luck controlling with hydrogen peroxide. Turn off flow of tank and squirt a little on the algae. Let sit for a minute.
