Buliding a stand for a 210

I have some ideas about doing this but has anyone ever done built one?
tank size is 72Lx24Wx30H
I was going to use 6 4x4s and a whole lot of 2x6s for the frame any thoughts. Lots of weight here so I want to make sure it will hold.

Dont have a cad program on this computer but its to the point.

Thanks,

Is it a glass, acrylic, framed or not framed tank?

Wow thanks for the fast replies.

Great link smcnally. Thanks.

I am shocked that only using 2x4 will be strong enough.

Its all glass and when you mean framed are you refering to top and bottom.
If so yes. Ill post some pictures in about 20 mins.

To tell the truth 3\4" furniture grade ply would do it.

AGAs are framed tanks. So your looking to carry all the weight on the outer edge.

Lots of work to still do buts its getting there. Good thing I took a week off to do this.

Were its going in the family room. It will be in the wall of course.

In wall you would probably be best framing it and putting a plywood top.

Are you going to make it flush with the front wall or recessed?

If I were to do it I would use the existing wall as the front legs. Then build a platform frame that rests on the existing wall and some legs in the back as in your drawing.
Add some angle brace on rear legs(angle steel) I would bolt the back legs through the steel bracing.
Then cap the platform frame with a piece of 3/4"

Almost there.

There is only one thing that concerns me..
At some spots I can put a piece of paper between the tank and the 3/4 plywood.

Is this normal, and will it be ok?
Lots of water if this tank cracks.

Surprised, that no one new about my question. Well anyway think I got that covered. (Atleast I hope)

Did the molding today as well as bought some of the plumbing supplies.

The next question I have is that I never made a durso. Any thoughts?
I am going to need to buy a couple pumps. I know I need one Dart for my Oceans motions but I am going to need one or two more pumps to feed back into the tank but not sure what ones will work the best. There will be a 75 gallon under the 220 and the size of both returns are 1 1/5.
The skimmer I will be getting from Aqua Addicts so thats all set.

Oh ya the pump for the returns will need to be an internal pump.

Thanks.
Eric

Are you using strainers or making some over flow boxes?

I would also be concerned about the wall above the tank absorbing water not sure if you did anything to protect it.

Thanks Michael,
I did level the tank and everything looks great.
Ya, one week. Ha some vaction. LOL.
I would love to have one pump but is one pump going to be able to handle all of that water?
