cal reactor

hi i am looking into getting a cal reactor have a 120 with 50 gall sump but have tons of sps and clams the sps are mainly frags but i can dose but is it worth it and also looking for a setup

I have a Koralin 1502 for my 75 gallon. I am loaded with nice big colony's of SPS and a nice size clam a good 5 inches. They are expensive at first to set up but it does make life easier. It is used to add alk and calcium not to keep it at a constant level. Every tank uses alk and calcium at different levels. You will still have to dose alk and calcium but not as frequently without one.

they do a good job , I have a GEO 612 I use my return pump and a ball valve to dial in the flow rate . but you definitely have to keep an eye on them , they can clog , which can drop your PH in reactor making ther clog worse . they can then cause spikes in your alk and calcium levels . once you get them dialed in they do work great but take a bit of fiddling till you find its "sweet spot " and unless you have a big system from my experience with it you may be better off dosing . for a big system you almost need one . sure you can dose a big system but the amount you have to dose can be reduced using a reactor .
