Calcium Dosing Question

I am looking to get some ideas for Calcium Dosing. I have a 90gal tank, I want to do a mixed reef but I really like SPS so I will likely get a bunch. I currently have a couple of small frags and don't mind having to dose manually for now but I want to start researching the different types of auto calcium dosing methods, equipment/reactors etc and was hoping I could get some feedback from reefers community to get me pointed in the right direction.

My current setup
90 Gal Display Tank w/Sump.
Reef Octopus 1000 Skimmer
2 AI Hyrda TwentySix LED's w/Director

I've got about 7 fish, all reef safe. A couple of Softies, 1 Brain Coral, 1 Torch and a couple of small SPS Frags.

Just got a new camera and will get some pictures posted this weekend.

At first you are def. better off dosing by hand anyway . try to spread it out to 2 times a day when doing it by hand . you'll have to get everything balanced by taking measures daily and figuring out the tanks usage .Once you see the dosages of calcium , alk become close to the same amount . within say 30% calcium most likely being the lower amount needed you can program a regiment to your dosing pump . I am using a Jebao DP4 and love it so far easy to set and change and calibrate

Why are you thinking of dosing Calcium alone ?

As mentioned, you first need to know your Alk use. Then you can dose a 2 part product, like B-ionic. You add the amount of Alk your tank use. Because is a 2 part product you add the same volume of Calcium and both will be equilibrated.

I know that I would need to dose Alk as well, I guess I just assumed that would be part of the calcium dosing. I'm just looking for some of the methods other folks are using while I research and take notes on my own system's usage.

May be consider a calcium reactor?
