Calibrating Apex Condutivity Probe

I'm going to calibrate my Apex conductivity probe. To start I need it dry and I've read that it could take around 2 days to dry out.
Has anyone tried the bag of rice trick to speed the drying time?
Thanks for any input.

Those probes aren't the most accurate to begin with. At least the one I got second hand wasn't. So I would wait the 2 days. Rice could damage the tip end.

Some are a pain to calibrate and then others have no issues. I ended up opening a ticket a couple years ago to calibrate mine properly. From my experience, and others I’ve read about, is the probe/cable is very sensitive to any magnetic fields. The cable needs to be routed by itself and the probe not near any pumps or pump cables. When I relocated mine it became pretty rock solid. This was all done after the fact with the help of Neptune.

Number was always steady from mine but was way off, reading 44.5PPT. Using a refractometer tank was at 35PPT, so I was just looking for swings. Now after letting dry for about 2 hours and calibrating its reading 33.5PPT, I can live with that number, much closer to my refractometer.
Thanks for the input guys

Check out Terrence's from Neptune UTUBE control freak streams. He tells how he set his up at an angle of flow in his sump. Supposed to help with accuracy
