Calibrating refractometer

If I bring my new refactometer to the July meeting, is there someone who could help me calibrate it.

All you need to do it clean it, put a few drops of RODI on the prism, and then turn the calibration screw until it levels out at 0.

Another trick/way is use a coffee cup filled with cold water, hold it over a boiling pot and let a couple of drops of the condensation/Distilled water drip onto the prism.

Thanks, I'll try that. I didn't think that it was too difficult. I'd like to start using it.

To be safe I also think it's also a good idea to calibrate at the high end. Randy discusses how to make your own calibration standard for refractometers, and other salinity measuring devices here:
