Can I use 24" bulbs on my 48" retro fit T-5 ballast/end caps ??

Maybe a stupid question, I bought a 48" retro kit a while back and I am switching to a shorter tank. Can i just cut the reflectors and run 24" bulbs on the endcaps? with same ballast?

Not unless you want ther bulbs to go boom , Not really sure but the 54 watt VS 24 watt I'd say would be bad

You should be able to depending on the the ballast. What type of ballast is it

Som ballasts might be able to do it. End caps will be fine. A T5 is a T5 in that aspect. But the ballast may be a diff story. Post up the ballast model and I'm sure a number of folks on here can give you the right advice.
