What is your Magnesium level at? Maybe raise it up to 1600 or 1700?

Maybe this will help, I had an urchin that was collecting all sorts of thing when I first put him in and was told this is bryopsis, pretty clear image of the fern like structure of the plant.
edit; boy my tank must of been brand spankin new look at that background still clean LOL. this is probably the only surviving critter from my initial tank and all the bumps and bruises along the way, it has been a long road when I look through my pictures of the tank.

I was putting a picture up to clarify what it looked like and I thought it was a funny picture, I am in no way saying he helped, if anything at that point he was just spreading it around.
+1 on letting your tank mature and straighten itself out, looking through my old pictures to find this one I went through lots of issues Diatoms, Cyano, all kinds of algaes and for all my efforts I think the system maturing resolved the majority of these issues everything else I did was just thrashing and wasting lots of time and money.

Also, there is nothing that will eat it if it is bryopsis. It is beatable, but you will not enjoy the fight. You can win but you you are not going to come out without cuts and bruises. Bryopsis fights back and it knows karate lol.
I would agree with this... but it does not seem to be working for me at all.
I want to say that maybe the bryopsis has developed a tolerance for the MAG. I have heard clean up crew, crabs, sea hare... tried it all and no progress.

I don't have bryopsis it's hair algae. I'm just trying to get something to help keep my algae at bay on my rocks as my dang crabs keep killing my snails.

Agree with jfab. I have heard around that mag to kill bryopsis should be done with Kent tech m

I haven't tried to raise my mag I'm gunna try it out.
second pic looks like turf alage just went threw it made me pul my hair out best solution for my tank was nothen no water changes nothen just ride it out tooth brush and fish filter with some pads to catch loos stuff flying i also left the filter in there it started to grow on the filter like a turf scrubber and it dissapered in the tank might not work for u but i found water changes was maken it grow worse in my tank also u can throw some pantyhose on powere head for lose stuff flying around when u remove it hope this helps btw the green stuff had my gf flipping out also and because of it tanks are no longer alowed in bedroom for me =(
My tank is living proof of being able to survive hair algae, cotton candy algae and byropsis. There is no such thing as an organic compound you can add to the water to help solve this issue. TECH M by far was what worked the most. Raise it slowly, and take your time. I had my mag at 1800 for a couple months. I would rather deal with byropsis than cotton candy algae. Cotton candy algae will not respond to any sort of treatment on your tank. Take the rock out and restart if you ever get cotton candy algae. Byropsis is beatable with magnesium. And if the byropsis gets weekend to the point its almost dead, i had a fox face eat the remainder with ease
I swear I wouldn't recommend the Tech M had I not had such great success I'll show anyone a pic my girl sent to me of the hair algea before I used it, she sent a text saying why do all the rocks look like this and it was hair algea And was gone less then a week after I added it
