Can Tree Corals be "Pruned"???

Just thinking about the future, not that it's too big now, but it is growing rapidly...is there a way to frag this guy?

I've pruned by just snipping a piece off and using a white plastic toothpick to attach it to a rock. Prune it just like you would a plant - not just a tip, but I'd do it at the end of a branch.

Ok, all good. I hate to sound stupid, but my first venture at fragging.

Do I cut near the narrow end or back where the branch originates?
How much can I cut?
How long should I run the charcoal?
What is the best thing to cut with? I am thinking a pair of scissors or exacto knife?

Some types are a little more prone to doing poorly than others, so you may want to frag a little bit at first and see how it heals and recovers before you start really hacking. Chances are it will be fine though.

Exacto knife will make a cleaner cut. Use the toothpick method, as stated above and you should be fine. You can cut the branch just about anywhere and it should be fine.

The colony will temporarily shrivle, but don't freak out. You may also want to wear gloves while doing this.

If you do it in the tank, I'd use a sissor. I recommend doing it in the tank because the it will shrink to a little ball if you take it out of the tank.
You should be running carbon as long as you want. But make sure you change them every 2 weeks or so, at least once a month. I'm running carbon 24/7
