We've soaked zoos in the past for 3 minutes at a time and have seen no ill effect, but we are by no means experts on this, so I would research some more before I did that.

I've soaked the softies I mentioned for up to 10 minutes
They will not open (much) for a few days, but they eventually open up & fully extend

Why are you wanting to soak them? If your concerned with introducing flatworms, 2 min will kill em all.

IF you have something else they can go up to 5 min & open within 24 hours. Usually 3 min FW dips is practiced by most.

Better safe then sorry
A chemical dip (not sure what types) is a much better method as there are some critters that can survive a FW dip
