Candy Cane not extending?

Skeeter7424

More corals than gallons
So I recently (last week) upgraded my lights from a PC unit to a quad T5 unit. Every night previous, about a half hour after the lights went out, my green centered candy cane would have all its tentacles and feelers out in the water. Now since swtiching my light it rarely puts anything out. Last night I found that about 1/16" showing. Any idea why it's no longer extending? Could it also have something to do with the fact that I am now running LED nightlights? All levels are the same as they were before. Thanks for any input guys!

Did you run the t5's on a shorter day cycle to get the corals used to the new light. I know when I change my MH bulbe for new ones it takes at least a week to get up to my normal cycle. I don'tknow if leds at night would affect it

Did you also change the off time of the lights? It would have nothing to do the moonlights.I think it just needs to adjust to the new lights.

Yes I went from an 8 hour cycle on the PC to a 4.5 hour cycle on the T5's, with a 1/2 hour actinic only cycle before and after the sunlights come on. I also moved the coral to the sand from its normal spot about halfway up the tank because I started to see some slime on it about a half hour after the first time I turned the T5's on. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it for now. Thanks guys
