So last I mentioned I ordered a new fixture. It's a Catalina Ultralight with 2x150 HQI 10k and 2x110 VHO URI Actinic + 6x1w blue LED
It seems to be one of the only fixtures with all that light that can fit on a 48" bow front tank due to the tank (and hence fixture) narrowness.
Well it arrived..
First report is: build quality is reasonably good. Everything intact. Everything works.
I had the factory modify the unit so the fans exhaust out the top. This mod was surprising because they put the fans in the middle (one in and one out) rather than on the ends where I would have expected. They tell me this is "normal".. Nevertheless. There is SOOO much light in my tank. Overall, I'd say I'm happy and they did a good job..
