CBB looking for new food = bad?

Soo my CBB has eaten about 90% of the aiptasia. You have to look hard to find any in my tank. EXCELLENT WORK COPPER! But.....

I find now that my acropora (is that the branching brownish tree like thing with fuzzy small hair-polyps) keeps getting moved from its normal spot. Is CBB nipping at it?

Also, I don't know what it's called (RAY can you help me out, you gave it to me) looks like a sheet of coralin algae that would have flaked off the glass, but in fact has bright green polyps that come out at day.... Those polyps are all gone (or not coming out). WOuld CBB have eaten them all?

All of the CBBs that I have had in the tank have never eaten anything other than featherdusters, pods, worms, and aptasia. Almost all of them have spent a few days picking at clams but none of them did any damage or continued with the practice.

The only bad habit that many of them developed and continued with was to eat the eyes and tentacles off of snails. That doesn't seem to kill the snails, but it is rather grim to have a bunch of one eyed snails crawling around.

I'm the other Ray :D . The green polyps sound like green star polyps, very pretty in the beginning, but can really get out of control. However it sounds like your CBB isn't going to let that happen. Is it possible he's moving the acro because there's an aptaisia under it?

As for the star polyps, yes, I think that is what it is/was.. Not sure where they went.. They were pretty... :-// as for the acro and the aiptasia... I'm not sure who/ what is doing it, but it is being moved forcefully.. I assumed it was CBB picking .. maybe not...

Got any hermit crabs? They're little stinkers in my tank. Even the small ones tip over large things.

Yes they are GSP and I have heard of CBB going after other things like that as well as zoas so keep an eye on them as well.

OMG NO! NOt my ZOES!

Ok. I was thinking. I would seriously consider lending / renting out my now TRAINED CBB to those with huge aiptasia problems... Maybe get him back in a few months to do a second helping in my tank.... Anyone?

I am not saying he WILL eat them but that is one thing they might go after.
Also if he did eat all the GSPs let me know and I will give you more. :)

Also try feeding more mysis and brine shrimp to keep him away from everything else

I'm having a pretty bad outbreakright now plus I have a bunch of GSP I want gone, sounds like this is the perfect fish. whats the rental price:)

the 16th would work, maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle. Let me do some research to make sure its compatable with the other fish in my tank and I'll get back to you. Thanks

3" yellow tang, pair of 2 1/2" clowns, 1 1/2" damsel, 3" royal gramma, 4-5" algae blenny. How large is "large"

In that case then it won't work out, I guess I'm back to peppermint shrimp. Thanks it was worth a shot

I love my CBB, but lately it has been chewing on this coral. Which is a shame, because I've had it for some time now. I'm going to have to move the coral if it has any hopes of healing.

the tang WILL be a problem. large = 5 inches

I wouldn't rule out a CBB because you have a YT. It won't necessarily be a problem, from our experience. We have a LARGE well established Yellow Tang and he let off our new CBB with little more than a warning.:D
