Changing RODI membrane

RODI water is coming out at 13ppm. I changed all the filters and matter at the end of June - and the membrane has been in since August 2010. So it's got to be the membrane, right?

I take the membrane housing off and can't get it open - and the kid is in Costa Rica for the summer (of course) - so I take the unit to work. No one can get it open!

Any idea how to get this thing open??

Thank you!

Try heating it up with hot water or a hair dryer.

What is the TDS arter the RO membrane before DI? Something seems off unless you have extremely high chlorine levels and don't change the carbon filter very oftem. RO membranes normally last like 3-5 years. 1 year is EXTREMELY short.

Really? I was told one year max. I have a good sized system - a couple of 180's, a 90 and a 40. I'll give it a shot and see. Changing the other filters is easier and certainly cheaper! Thanks!
