anyone ever fix a chiller leaking electricity into the tank? i took it all apart and found some blue in the wires think there was a little corosion. so i cut the wires back and re soldered them. i took the ground off the pump and cleaned up reinstalled still puts a little electricity into the tank. really dont feel like buying another chiller.

You could try q grounding probe if all else fails.

A grounding probe should be on any tank They are a what if worst case scenario happens tool. Not a fix for a faulty piece of equipment

from what i hear the grounding probe is bad to have in there because it completes the circuit putting current in the tank. i have tried it with the probe and with out the probe every time i put my fingers in the sump it tingles. i am using my reeflo return pump off of the manifold to feed it. when i shut the chiller off and just allow water to go through it my fingers dont tingle when puting into the tank.

i pulled the outlet out and made sure it was grounded and changed it to a a gfi outlet. it doesnt trip even though its leaking electricity. i also got an extension cord and tried a couple other outlets and it still does it. i only feel my fingers tingle where there is a cut. its very little but it cant be normal.

you need to actually use a multi meter to find voltage.most any wound will tingle in saltwater. Is there a chassis ground wire inside the chiller that let go........?

there is a chasis ground it was good but took it off and sanded it a little an put some stabilent 22a on it.

not sure mine always do and i have no stray voltage.do you have a multi meter to check continuity from chiller chassis to the ground pin at the end of the electrical cord

I would get multi meter and start testing before replacing anything .can you shut down chiller and use a fan for a couple days.how old is chiller maybe contact manufacturer as well

the chiller is about 2 years old and current usa dont make them any more they also dont service any thing out of warrenty.

think its the temp probe in the chiller. because it happens even when the compressor isnt on. going to try to wire it up to my apex so when it gets power it is just always on

fixed the problem it was the controler putting electricity in through the temp probe cut the wire for the the temp probe and re wired it on all the time and pluged it into apex no no more tingle fingers!
