Cleaning internal overflow

Do I'm planning on cleaning my rr 72 now and I'm wondering the easiest way to clean the inside of the overflow, where I cannot reach. I know vinegar and what not but what's the easiest way to clean it? Plug up drains and pour vinegar in and let sit? How would I block off the intake areas if the overflow if I were to do that? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Not quite sure what your trying to accomplish. I use a small brush similar to a toothbrush to clean mine. Have to keep the 'teeth' free of gunk to keep things flowing. Are you talking about inside your overflow tubes? I've never cleaned inside mine. I wouldn't be dumping vinegar into my sump though.

It's a tank that's broken down. I'm cleaning it to set it back up and I'm looking to make it as clean as possible. It's a standard internal overflow and I really want to clean in between the two pieces of black plastic and all the way down to the bottom where I cannot reach.

Ah ok I would put the vinegar in a spray bottle or like you said plug up the holes and fill it up soaking is best

They have longer brushes similar to bottle brushes that are flexible to clean cannulated items.

I love it when you use big words.

If the tank is outside you can use muriatic acid. You can find it with masonry supplies. It can be dangerous so outside is a must with gloves goggles and respirator. If you are not familiar with do not use. I use it with great results.

BUT BE VERY CAREFUL!
