I'm so unprepared again

So since they hatched last night. After the five days, Mark do a water change suck all the debris inside the bottom of the tank. You should invest on a vacuum brush like I have. With a clear tube connected to it just like this picture so that way you don’t suck the babies up by accident.

That’s a cool one!!! Gunna have to snag one for raising my seahorses thank you for sharing!!

Still unclear. I have unhatched eggs. Should I try and go lights out just for a few hours to see if they hatch? And then go to 24 hours on? I know it’s normal they don’t all hatch in one night. The remaining eggs still look viable

When was the day that they lay eggs?

Yeah, it’s normal. Usually not all the eggs hatch part of nature. I also had a hatch of five babies that survived.. It’s an experience in learning. As we go, I learned a lot of techniques on my own.

Well I made my first mistake in that I turned out the lights for 2-3 hours to see if I could hatch the rest. When I turned the lights back on at 11 everything was dead. Given the build up of fry near the heater, my guess is when I turned the lights out they were attracted to the light by the heater and burned up.

Correction looks like I actually have 3-4 that are hanging on. They are still swimming well and making the feeding “lunge”…see if they hang on till morning at which point I’ll likely do a water change.

Still going. I did a 25% water change today and yesterday. I probably lost 2-3 fry both days. I started with a very small clutch so I have about 25-30 but I don’t feel like I’m losing a lot. They are starting to be more active when the water is tinted or the rotis are added, you can see them get a surge of energy. I will probably do a 50% Change tomorrow and start mixing in Artemia and TDO A.

Where did you get this? I’ve been using a credit card while holding the tube to do the bottom.

Amazon let me see if I can send you a link. I’ll get back to you soon. The tubing you can get at Home Depot. What’s most important? Is that vacuum brush tube?

i’ll make your life easier lol by helping you. I like to help my fellow reefers

Update: I have 14 left, today and yesterday consecutively didn’t lose any fry. Unfortunately my rotifer culture crashed, but I think at this point the fry are getting most of their nutrition from TDO. I fed the B-1 5 times today. @Seapets is that enough or too much? When I feed I do a light dusting over the surface and kill the air stone for 10 mins. They all come out to the surface and feed. I just don’t want to over / under feed. I’m doing a 50-75% water change daily depending on how scummy things are.
