Clownfish breakup

Hey all. I have two clowns and they have been a couple since they have been juvenile. They host and share one big anemone. But recently the female nemo kicked the male nemo out of her house and started chasing him to the corner. He's has a bit of a torn fin and kinda beat up.

Has anyone dealt with an issue like this, what are your suggestions? Are they done with each other forever or should I have hope that they will rekindle their love? I have separated the two in the meantime to give them a calm down period. Thoughts?

This happened to me as well, granted the male was 2nd boyfriend. After 6 months, she suddenly turn on him and kill him. Didnt think that clownfish can be that mean.

Oh damn...good that I separated the male, she just suddenly turned on him yesterday and been kicking him into a corner since

Yes, clownfish can be that mean.
When they reach the age of turning, they fight it out to see who get to be the dominating one. If both of them are stubborn, one may get hurt.

Any suggestions on if I should try putting the male back, he seems pretty submissive but I also don't want him to get killed. The female kept him in a corner and don't let him leave until I took him out

I will actually take out the “wannabe “ female and replace it with a smaller size one to mate with the “yet to be” male.
A nasty clownfish will possibly kill the 2nd or 3rd “boyfriend “.
This just my observations for the past 20 years, I have/had many pairs and see enough deaths.
