Ok so i am setting up a lionfish / BASIC or aka BEGINNER reef tank in my spare 55G. I want to put in a Fuzzy dwarf lion, a Zebra dwarf, and a spotfin lion. I would really Love to put a Radiata in there too... i have a 90G in my room i would be willing to convert to SW once i get the hang of the Hobby. As of right now it houses a Ray and friends... would Psuedochromis be able to live in this tank?? If so which species?? Also which species of GOby would be Good to house... i want a brownbarred, so he can circulate my sand... I am going to have a ton of L/R in this tank, and plan on making amazing caves.. any output???!?!
How many powerheads and what sizes would you have in this setup for propper water movement??
Looking for many parts for this tank.. so if you live anywhere near MANCHESTER NH. PM me and see if you can sell anything to me... (Tanks, Filters, Lighting, SKimmers, R/O DI MAchines...)

Those lions will eat anything that will fit even partially in their mouths.

Any small psuedo or goby would be munched.

But my goal is to have the smaller or weaker fish in the tank fully adjusted to there own territories before i add the Lions simultaneously.. Would this postpone the lionfish hostility??? I want to get the lionfish when they are only about 2.5 inches long! would this help out at all??? i can Upgrade my tank when the time is right...

Sure it MAY work, I mean some people have triggers in their reefs with no problems.

I just wanted to make the point that lionfish will generally try to eat ANY fish they can fit in their mouths.

I'm not saying they will pick on weak or smaller fish, it's not really hostility, it's predatory.

They just gulp them down.

I have even seen them try to eat fish that where clearly too big for them.

well, as for the 55g, i would not mix a radiata with dwarfs because the radiata will eventually eat the dwarfs. some types of dwarfs do not mix well together also. by spotfin, do you mean antennata lionfish? that will eventually eat the dwarfs also. if i was you, i would put probably 3 dwarfs in this tank, maybe 2 fuzzzys and a zebra. maybe 2 of each. also, wherever you get your lions at, i would recommend making sure they eat frozen food. try going to a reputable local fish store and talking to the workers.
with regards to the 90g, do you currently have a freshwater fay in it? what kind? all freshwater rays will get very large, and the 90g is definitely not a large enough tank for it. as for a saltwater setup, all of the fish you mentioned, psuedos, gobies, etc will be fine in this tank. i would definitely not mix lions, dwarfs or not, into this tank. i will promise you that any small fish in there will be eaten very soon. it is not a matter of hostility like mentioned above. i hope this helps.
