Cool looking new pump

I've been reading up on closed loops vs in-tank pumps (Seio/Tunze/MaxiMods) and ran across this at Champion Lighting

It certainly doesn't fall in the economical category that I'm looking for but looks like an awesome solution to some of the in-tank pump drawbacks.

Theyre like $300+, and from what I've heard, theyre still having issues with the motors burning up.

That, and who wants cords hanging off the side of your tank. Just seems risky to me.

I guess cords off the side might be a bit unsightly, off the back might be nicer. But for mag mounted pumps you still have something stuck on the outside of the tank. As for risky, wouldn't it be the same as any other thing plugged in and put into a tank (powerhead, heater, etc.)?

I don't think you can aim them unlike the tunze.

It would probably be ideal for an in-wall tank like mine, but I'm a bit skeptical... unless they want to give me one as a beta tester

I was talking to the guys displaying these at NERAC and they are planning a design that will enable you to aim them in different directions. What was funny was, the control box got a couple of drops of water on it and fried it. I guess they need to redesign that also. I'd give it a while and let them work out the bugs.
