Copper banded butterfly questions

I bought one and have him in quariteen. I know its a crap shoot on if he will eat zoos/ corals but does anybody have any experience? I put a few in with him to see what hapends.

they will always eat featherdusters, but are generally fine with everything else. Sometimes they bother clams, but in my experience they do not do any harm to them and lose interest quickly.

thats a good sign,i have never had an issue with one eating corals

Same here, never had a problem with mine eating any corals or zoas, or bothering clams. Unfortunately (though typical for CBBs) I lost two before I got one established.

It's a great sign that yours is eating brine. I'd suggest mixing in mysis with the brine to get it eating that (mysis is much more nutritious).

Sorry to hijack this a bit, all those who've keep CBB's would you recommend against one in a 55g.

They are not as active swimmers as big tangs, but IMO they still should be provided with some good swimming space. I'm sure it could be done, but I wouldn't try it.

They are awfully sensitive fish, and any source of stress can make the difference IMO. The bigger the tank, the lower the stress (on at least that one vairable).

I'd keep a tang in a 55 before a CBB, but a lot of others would say the opposite.

It's a bit small, but as John said, they are not all that active swimmers. They can be shy, retiring fish. It's important (IME) to make sure they are not troubled by agressive fish. I've never seen one eat zoanthids.
