Coral Taxidermy

The Ng Thing

Sounds a little silly but does anyone have a good method for preserving dead coral skeletons? I want to mount a couple ones I have on my desk. I was thinking I would just soak them in a mild bleach solution to clean em off then spray them with some type of dry clear glue to keep them from being too brittle.

just figured since it was clear it might seal it and make it strong. def would fill the pores though so i guess it would change the look

Just let it bleach in the sun for a few weeks.
That's how I got my Fungia coral nice and white.

I think anyhting you coat it with will dull it and likely yellow overtime.Like stingythingy45 mentioned put in the sun for a week or so they will be bright white. Then maybe once a yr as needed do it again to refresh it.
