Coralife Skimmer micro bubble issue?

My HOB Coralife Super Skimmer started acting up this week, one night after topping off tank cup overflowed in a matter of minutes, thought maybe I poured water in to close to intake? Then after doing a water change the other night the cup is filling quickly and it is creating severe micro bubbles. Has anyone had similar problems or any suggestions?

The directions are a misprint.Move your pump so it is about 2"from the surface.This will increase air intake and allow you to slow the flow of water which will give the bubbles time to rise in the skimmer.It is sensitve.I have mine draining into a larger conatianer.

Thanks Bill, gave it a try but still have the issue with the micro bubbles, can these cause problems ?If not I will try to ride it out and see if they clear up!
