A friend of mine is selling his CoraLife skimmer, I think it is rated up to 100g. I have a 46g and 10g sump, will this be ok for me to use?

How well do these work?

Thanks

You can use it, no problem at all.
I used to have that one on my 30 gallons tank.
But those hang on the back skimmers are tricky and need to adjust and watch out for overflow in the cup.

to answer the how well do they work - They work ok but not great. They are the lower of skimmers

Watch out, they overflow without warning. Make sure 100% of it is "in" the sump. I would not hang it on the tank or the sump.

I have been using a Coralife skimmer for 3 years and it has worked great!

I had one for 9 months then switched to a reef octopus. The differance was a magnitude of 2 to 3 times as much dark gunk coming out of the octopus

I run a coralife 125 in the sump of our 75 gallon. It gets the job done and pumps out halfway decent skimate, but if I had the space/ money i'd get a reef octopus. The coralife is very temperamental and it doesn't take much to get it going haywire and overflow the cup

Do a search and you'll have your answer.I have had my share of skimmers and the coralife while simple was prone to constant inconsistent problems and I agree with what Bobbofin said...would overflow for no reason.Oh!! the micro bubbles and that stupid sponge... gotta clean it every day.....I'm done ...my apologies.:)
