difference between the ATI power mod and sunpower?

what's the difference between them?Is the par output that much more on a power mod or just different material use on the fixture itself?

IIRC the housing is slightly more finished and it has a couple more fans but the "guts" are the same.

The Powermodule has been discontimued but the Sunpower hasn't. Rumor has it that the new Powemodule will be a t5/led hybrid.

I opted for the sun-power.

75w of leds, and 4 or 8 t5 bulbs in a 24" fixture? Hooray for overkill!!!
The 60" fixture made me giggle even more....1000w of t5+led in 60" package is psycho

It would be really cool if they offered just the LED section and controller for sale so it could be retrofitted into an existing PM. (If you've never taken a PM apart, they are actually a series of 2 blub segments joined together brilliantly so that they form a nearly seamless fixture. For example my 8 lamp PM is actually 4 2 lamp sections assembled into one unit.)

The build of the fixtures is actually very different, but the outputs very close. If you search youtube for "ballast replacement ATI sunpower" and "ballast replacement ATI power module" you will find reef geek videos showing how to take both fixtures apart. They are completely different inside with the SP being very well thought out and practical, and the PM is just a bleepin work of art inside :)

I'm thinking either the ati sunpower or tek

I would go with the ATI if you can. I have and run TEK T5s and they work great. I like the look of the ATIs better and they also have fans on their units.
