Got into the JBJ Led set-up because of heat issues with the halide. Running a combination of Luxeon Rebels and Cree XRE. The Cree seem to be a bit more power hungry so I switched to 23 instead of 24 leds for the time being just can't drive them all. All mounted and tested . Mounted on an 8.5x11 inch heat sink from heatsinksusa. The drivers are all in ones 55 bucks a pop and they will drive 11-12 led, not 14 like they are rated at 700ma.
The Luxeon royal blues are on a dimmer, I'll be using the stock JBJ fans with a slight modification to the OEM hood to improve airflow since it's a blow threw design which was fine for the halide but not so great for the led set-up. Worse case scenario cut out the top of the hood paint the heat sink black and add a fan. I don't think that will be required. Color temp with 50/50 ratio should fall into the 12-14k range, of course you can turn down the blues if you want more of a 10k look. I'll take some low resolution shots of the arrays lit and post them later.
No way of doing that at the moment, once I finish up a few details the halide hood comes off and the led hood goes on. I might also pick up a driver for the 1 led in the corner. Kind of bugs me and that corner will be low on light and if needed I could add a few more to the sides since I have extra rebels anyway. One of the guys over at nano-reef.com says it should be close to the 150 watt halide in output but with no heat!
