Do You Think Skimmate is Good for the Garden??

Mmmm salty.

Daire,

No, No, No, the heavy amount of salt would kill it. This question has come up before with lots of good input, I think it was when we were at RC try a search.

Oh damn! I have A LOT of skimmate with this new tank - I was hoping to put it to good use. I'm glad I asked! Thanks for the input.

It does make a great after dinner cocktail or mixer.;)

You could use it as a weed killer. :)

That is true. I dumped my cup on the edge of my property once. It killed the weeds that came into contact with it. It must have been the salts.

I have also read that is contain very very high rates of bacteria. Best to flush it down the sink - and wear gloves while your doing it.

oops, I use my hand to wipe the sludge out of the cup when I clean it, under running tap water. Should this be avoided? I haven't had any trouble......yet!

I too use my hands to clean it out...without gloves...but then again, I've had to do the same with baby diapers for soo long, I'm pretty much bullet proof ;)
