Dosing timers

What do you all use for dosing timers! I’m currently using the Feit Smart plug and my schedule is constantly shutting down. Need a better option for my dosing pump for Kalk.

Smart plugs are absolutely horrible, had a tank crash because of it. The cloud based commands are not designed for the reliability and repeatability that a precision dosing event requires.

You may want something like a dedicated doser that actually have a built in timer circuit locally within the hardware. Jebao are cheap but been reliable for me.

Sorry to hear that. That is horrible. Thankfully, I have had an issue when it comes to power loss or anything. I have the economy one from BRS and needed something a little more reliable. I haven’t to go back into the app and turn the schedule back on every few days. It’s annoying.

With the Jebao one, would that cause the same issue?

Yeah thankfully it was only a 15g with cheap livestock. It was the command from Google sever that didn't process through which kept it on for the whole night.

Jebao one is timed locally and programmed through the app / or directly on the doser. So that programming stays with the processing chip within the hardware. So far so good for me. I like the MD4.4, which is the newer one they came out with that's less bulky than the common jebao. AliExpress is a good place to source since they are a Chinese manufacturer (so the Chinese market gets the newest stuff first before working its way over here from Shenzhen)

I’ll have to look into some more. I mean, it’s a good doser, just the timer sucks. Like I said, never been stuck on when the power came back on. If I remember correctly, it can’t stay on too long or the motor will burn out?

So the answer would be yes but I can’t get the wifi plug to connect and work properly. It’s a very well known issue with those.

I got an Apex for my first control and just sort of stayed with the brand. I've never had a Hydros and was unaware they have some issues. I've never had any GHL equipment, but it's German and that's a 25 point headstart out of the gate, they don't make junk there....lol

I do have 2 Jebao dosers that are wifi app controlled, the program stays in the doser, so if it has power it will work. I think a runaway doser is less likely than a stuck ATO so probably safer in long run.
