Dream fish ID

Years ago I was snorkeling in Panama (Bocas del Toro which is on the Caribbean side) and I saw a beautiful fish I’ve never been able to identify.
It was all black with a single bright blue spot on either side of its head. They were small and had the body shape of a dwarf angelfish. I’ve wondered if they were the juvenile coloration of another fish?
Anyone have any guesses?

Definitely wasn’t a jewel damsel, but that is a very cool looking fish!
