drilling acrylic tank

What kind of tool do I need to drill a hole on acrylic tank? It should be much easy to do right? Thanks

ive done small holes with a regular hole saw. just don't go too fast or the acrylic melts.

It can crack too! Be careful. Is this a tank Dong? I've used a regular hole saw with good results for 1" bulkheads (1 3/4" hole I think).

the best thing to do is clamp a piece of wood on the backside where your drilling the hole , so the hole saw doesn't catch & crack the acrylic

go a little way, let the bit cool, then resume

a Forstner bit will give you a much cleaner cut

i use carb. tip hole saws thay are the best !!
