Dwarf moray eel not eating as much

I have a golden dwarf moray eel which used to eat frozen scallop about once every other day or every 3 days. Now, it doesn't seem to be as interested in it. I did upgrade tanks, and it ate once so far in the new tank about a week ago. Perhaps it needs new food items. It's been suggested to try krill and mussels. I tried freeze dried krill, but that didnt work. I'll try frozen along with some other food items tomorrow. Any other ideas on foods to try. I know eels can fast... any ideas on how long they can go without eating and still be healthy?

Thanks,
Chris

you have to mix up the food. Try different kinds of frozen fresh foods. They will get quickly bored with one kind of food

The Snow Flake I had would fast for 2 weeks at time on occasion. It seemed like any drastic change would trigger it, ie changing tanks, changing rock around. I'd say, if it looks and acts healthy otherwise, give it some more time. It'll eat when it's ready.

My snowflake acts like a homeless person in a free grocery store!

Everyday like it's never eaten in it's life..

Are these Snowflakes and Dwarfs in a reef enviorment or in a FO tank?
How are they in reefs?

I don't know about dwarfs, but you don't want a snow flake in a reef. They eat way too much and create alot of nutrients, they'll knock things over constantly, and they can rip tang size fish apart if they so desire. Not invert safe either. I had one in my tank when I just had a few softies, and when I decided to go toward sps, I wanted to remove it. I had to remove evrey pice of rock out of a 210 to get it out. I tried to fish it out, and it broke 2 bass hooks! If I ever have a fish only, I'll get another. I think you'll regret it big time if you add a big moray to a reef. JMHO.

the dwarf is very reef safe. she ate a goby and a firefish, but thats only because they were sharing her burrows. I have a tiny mandarin, clown goby, other small fish, and cleaner shrimp. She doesn't touch them at all. She's usually scared of the fish that swim by too. It's a very pretty eel, but costs a pretty penny.
