EcoTech Marine VorTech Propeller Pump

Uh, they didn't know the price of what they were testing?
A lot of beta testers get to keep the product afterwards
Do you think they would risk sending a bad unit to a beta tester?

I prefer to wait until the gotta-haves buy some & we get real world volume testing
If you got a free bottle of Marc Weiss product, would you rave about it despite your experiences?
If you got a free Eco-actualizer (I got two free), would you say they're awesome if they weren't?
I think Len is a pretty honest guy. If it was crap, he'd probably say so.

I am interested in the longevity of these things.

Now, here is the $1,000,000 question... Will you buy another Vortech or a Tunze Stream / Nano Stream? I know this is early in your experience but your comment about parts falling off in the box is a bit sad.

If this runs with no problems, yes I will pick up another 1.The prop falling off didn't make me happy. Guess they forgot to tighten it? The wide flow is really impressive. You can't compare the MJ 900 mod in this respect. And with the wavetimer the random patterns are great. 1 MJ900 on constant. The Vortech switching every 2 minutes. No heat transfer is nice also. The Tunze just seemed to bulky for my 75. I don't mind the wire at all, my mag float and temp probe are on that side anyway. Kind of a high tech look.:)

Which forum over there, Liam? Main reef discussion?

i just did a search under vortech Moe

Eariler today, I was reading a bit about the problems some users were having in the IceCap forum over at RC.

I've always heard good things about Icecap
But in a quick scan I see at least 3-4 threads with broken pumps
Out of how many shipped?
That's not too bad, but in one case a dead refurbished pump was sent out to replace a new (defective) pump

Read all the threads about the ETM pump prior to purchase. Icecap stands behind there products with great customer service. My main reason for buying it was not only it's features but the Icecap name. Finally a US comp stepping up to the plate and taking a swing at Tunze.

pics?

Yes, I trust Icecap to stand behind their product

How come they don't have pump info on their web site?

There is another pump out, trying to remember who makes it - RIO mfg?
"Big " sausage like pump that sits in the tank.....??

Got it

polario.jpg

and made by Taam...Mfg of the infamous RIO & the newer SEIO
No news on their website about the Polario

and since it's been about 2 years since the Seio was out...and people still waiting on the controller....

UPDATE:
Pump failed after 2 days. Kept locking up. This was a first gen model with known bad wet sides. Received an immediate response from ETM. Said they would mail me a new wet side last Friday. As of today still no new parts. Not happy with them at this point. It shouldn't take that long if they really sent it out the next day. Just venting people.

Rob

Since my last post, no problems at all. I want the controller which will make this much more versatile. So 7 months no problems.
