Ecotech Marine VorTech

I like them when they work. They keep falling of the glass and I just sent 1 in for repairs and it is still doing the same thing. They charged me to rebuild the wet-side with the new gen magnet and I ordered a spare wet-side. Right now both wet-sides are sitting at the bottom of the tank.

i've never had a problem with this.
Are you using the supplied adhesive cable mounts?

Don't you alread have Tunze 6100's, Wavebox and an Aquacontroller3?

If so, Ditch the wave box and get an aquasurf for the Aquacontroller, you can set different mode throughout the day and cycle through a wave mode. You don't need a wavebox if you have the ability to automatically cycle through modes.

For you it would be no $cost$ move

Yes I am, I was thinking the same thing, perhaps they need to support the weight more than I thought. Kind of had the mounts off center which might have been the cause all this time??

wow......haven't had that happen....did you adjust the magnet strength by moving the shim to the correct glass thickness?

so are you saying pull the pump from the box?

Yes the tank has 1/2 glass and the pin spacer has been set correctly also. I tried the 5/8 position as well same results. My thoughts now are the cable support should be more centered with the weight of the dry side. You can see the pin spacer label being slid upwards it is very wrinkled as the dry side starts to drop and separate from the wet side. It doesn't just separate, it happens gradually.

Do you have one tunze 6100 or one tunze 6100 and a wave box?

If you have 2 tunze 6100s just take the box out and sell it. Then buy an Aquasurf

Shunter,

not sure what your budget is but ebay w/paypal is currently offering 25% off on all BIN items. Figure a vortech runs about 420 less 25%. you're looking at around 300 a piece.

MR.HaHa,

you will have to excuse me as I am not too Ebay savy. what are BIN items and how can this special be found?

B

take a look at this. i have used this 6 times over two accounts:

People.

1. Go to eBay.com and find an item you want to buy (it MUST have a Buy it now option with paypal)
2. You can get up to $250 per completed item/auction. Pick something $1000 to get maximum CashBack
3. Add that item to your watch list.
4. go to live search type in gold coin or try the following links until you see a CashBack link in the gray 'Sponsored Sites' section (refresh a few times if you don't see it)
gold coin
5. click on the 20% banner (Live Search CashBack)
6. Now you are in eBay go to my eBay and look at items on your watchlist
7. Click on that item
8. Click on 'Buy it now'.
9. Before 'Committing to Buy', be sure the CashBack details are shown on the screen with the proper 20% of the item(s) value
10. check out and pay with Paypal and the CashBack will be yours!

Note: If you do not receive a Cash Back message in your eBay Inbox in a few days, contact eBay through chat support. They will manually send the message to you.

if anyone has questions on this feel free to contact me. it can be confusing at first.

this is 100% backed by microsoft

BIN items = BUY IT NOW

this special does not work on regular auctions

Isn't the aquasurf around $175? if so then that plus two 6100's {with double controller} is almost $1000 for that you can get two MP40w's and one battery backup, and have no transferable heat, little to no intrusion into the tank, kick As$ flow, wave controll, plus a backup system for a power outage!! and all for about $50 less than two tunzes plus the aquasurf.....oh and if your set on the aquasurf then buy two MP40's without the drivers and get the aquasurf for the Vortechs, (there are some videos on u-tube showing how to DIY aquasurf the Vortech), the $$ you save on the wireless drivers will pretty much pay for the aquasurf....

Not sure why you think you need a multi controller? The Aquasurf replacess the multi controller and the Tunze Streams are only $302. The Auquasurf allows you to change through the different modes of wave simulation an excellent feature. I am not too familiar with the votex so I can not say how they are, or what feature are available.

But I thought Shawn already had Tunzes hence my recomendation.
