Eheim 1262 Pump

Is an eheim 1262 submersible pump a good one to use as the sump return pump in a 90 gallon tank?

I guess that depends on what you want to keep in the tank and how much flow your looking for. Is there any other means of flow besides the sump return? Eheim makes very good and very quiet pumps you can't go wrong with eheim.

Best submersible made IMO. Unfortunately, they are expensive for the amount of water they move. I have several, and I've never seen one fail. If used externally over time the o-rings will leak, and cannot always be fixed by just replacing the o-ring.

In addition to the Eheim I plan to run a closed loop -- probably through an Oceans Motions 4 way. Haven't decided the gph on the loop yet but my guess is anwhere from something like a Pan World at 1270 gph up to a Sequence Dart at 3600 gph. Do you think that the 3600 is too much flow. I am mostly looking to keep LPS with some soft and sps. I have been told that an AGA 90 gallon overflow can handle 600 gph and that I would probably not want to run a pump with anything more than 900 +/- gph and taking into account the head and any other restrictions in the flow back into the tank.
