Ever have that feeling?

Ever since I drained my tank and took out all the LR and corals to catch my clowns everything doesn't look the same anymore. No mater how much I aquascape it doesn't look right. I'm getting frustrated at my tank. Plus I can't seem to find place to put any of my corals. Sometime I just want to start all over again with different LR. Anyone get that feeling when everything just doesn't look right?

A lot of the time it seems that way because the coralline and other growth on the rock (including the corals) had all grown in together and toward the light. When things get moved around they just don't look right until things have some time to grow back in in relation to the light.

Next time just borrow my fish trap :)

Peter give your eyes a couple days to adjust. We've all had that feeling before.

And follow Jimmy's advice, use the trap next time. I have one if you ever need to borrow it.

I think that sometimes... if I would be better off just getting some Marco rock and starting over with new formations. Then I think about all of the live stuff on my current rock and how I wouldn't want it all to die and how long it would take for that all to rebuild...

Yes,shortly before that feeling to smash everything.
Then followed by depression, then denial then just learning to cope.
I swear I could have 500lbs of LR and still not find the right combination.

I had a fish trap but it was too smart to go into it. I should have left it alone but my wife wanted the maroon with gold stripes.

Exactly. Everyday I look at my tank and keep on thinking of a way to make it look better. Guess I just have to deal with it.

We did the same thing, but our tank is only 10G, so we bought a few new rocks and played around and found something we liked. Wasn't to hard for us, but for anybody that isn't rockin a 10 gallon it would be a little more work.

I picked up an 11 lb. Fiji rock yesterday to add to the tank.
Now I'm like.....where the heck to put this?I know I need more rock but now I have corals fixed to the other rocks. Then there's the imfamous, gotta step back and look.I just put a new carpet down.I'll get hung if any SW drips from my elbows on that rug.

same feeling here. i just got 7 pieces or so of rock from caiworm and now i have too much. stingything45 i feel your pain... i have brand new hardwood floors and there is no way i can get elbow drip on them!!

I actually just feel like giving up. My oculina died and I was crushed. Eric B. said it was a bacterial infection and it is unlikely I could have saved it. Then, I thought I had everything set -- wasn't going to buy anything else and felt really happy with my tank. Then the leather melted. Then the hammer got brown jelly. Now the green tree isn't expanding. Taking the hammer out moved stuff around and now the rocks won't fit back in place. Sigh.

Don't give up Sherri, hopefully things start to work out better for you.

I just added the new rock to the tank last night.
I bought 6 ft. of that plastic runner that smells like a pool liner.
I put 2 totes on it and put my rock in there after draining out about 25 gallons of water.Even did a water change after everything was situated right(well kinda).
The very finicky Devil's hand was even showing polys after all the moving around.:)

PS.
Don't give up Sherri.
You're just having a string of bad luck.

Thanks for the encouragement -- it just feels like sometimes you can't just sit back and enjoy. That's what I was ready to do. I will probably get over it but if I don't I will have some stuff for sale!

Eventually you'll be able to sit back and enjoy.Until you add something else to youre tank.lol..Just have to make it over a few hurdles first. But just think of it Sherri, having a little trouble helps adds drama.
When you talk to guest about the tank you'll be able to add all the troubles you had to overcome in the conversation.

Bob, Bob, Bob ... you just have no idea how much drama my life entails! The tank is my escape from drama! Think about it -- my business is a family business that I own and run with a brother and sister, we have 20 business partners worldwide, and I have about 5 lawyers. Now that's drama! I just want to escape into my sweet little undersea world, gaze at all my little family happily growing, But NO! Something always has to die. Darn world. I am tired of dying! I have lost two older friends in the last month too -- I just want to dying to stop! But no -- my poor little hammer coral is slowly dying from brown jelly yuck, my rocks don't fit and I have moved everything around again. AND, the green tree is still not expanding. And again I say ... sigh. I am sorry -- have I melodramatically highjacked this thread? lol....

Now Sherri,
What use would these forums be if it wasn't for adversity?
"How's your tank doing?"
"Great!!!"
"Mine is also"
"Ok,talk to you at the next meeting where they'll be discussing how wonderful and easy Reefin is."
Part of the reward is to stick with it and MAKE it successful.

Okay Bob -- but it would also be nice to every now and then just say -- my tank is fine -- no problems. A little bit of down time? Just that feeling of it's all healthy and happy? A small break? 5 minutes every six months or so? Nothing to worry about? Are you saying that you never fantasize that it's done? Okay? Looking fine? After all, there are only so many places I can grow wings out of -- I am running out of wing sprouting spots!

Yes,I'm hoping someday I'll say that.
But when that happens I'll probably upgrade.lol
I kind of knew what to expect when I got into this hobby.
But it seems the more you add to the tank the more problem arise.
I've likened it to a room full of spoiled kids.
I think we both deserve a Red Bull for all the "wings"talk.
