I was just watching my tank and noticing that one of my Xenia's is all retracted in. I didn't think too much of it until I saw my Flame angel swim by and take a few pecks at it.

Is there any reason this would happen? I thouggh the flame angel was supposed to be reef safe, I don't think she has ever doen this in the past.

My cherub had a xenia problem as well as other softies so I ditched him.

angel

feed more often but less amounts
or get rid of either the fish or xenia.lol
My flame angel doesn't bother anything right now but every fish is an individual.
I was talking to a guy that had 2 green chromis's kill a torch coral!!
Anyway you never know with any angel.
I would try feeding more often to keep his appetite supressed.

i had a bicolor that loved xenia and nephthea.

I had a Eibli Angelfish that was always picking at my corals and it just got worse! so i got rid of him 2 weeks ago! corals are happy now!
IMO. Angelfish are NOT reef safe!

I have started feeding them less a while ago. I wonder if thats it. Maybe I will feed them a bit more. I love the color of the flame angel and I do know that he goes around picking at the rocks all day but never see him touch anything else.

I will have to keep a close eye on him and see if more food helps.

I had a very destructive flame that ate a bunch of LPS, and was also a clam nipper. I was happy to see it go.....

long time ago had a coral beauty that after a couple years in the tank decided it liked my LPS also had a hippo tang after 4 years decide to like my elegance
at the moment I have a bicolor that is tearing chunks out of my stylo
I really believe that most fish once the "try" somthing new and get a taste that they like will turn into PITA's

coral eaters

lol,I had a hippo tank that ate tons of zoos, actually any polyp in my tank!!!
pita!!!!

I have had good luck with both Coral Beautys and Flames not touching anything in my tank, I may not have had them long enough.
