Feeding Acans

I bought a couple of acan frags over the weekend and have some questions:

1. I have been feeding them pellets, and they seem to be eating them. Is this ok or should I be feeding them meaty things?
2. Do you have to feed each head? Or does feeding one head benifit the whole colony?
3. every 2-3 days ok?

Acans don't need to be fed. If you do, feed meaty shrimps.

I used to feed pellet food to tank and recall a few instances where they fell into acan mouths. I don't see any harm with it. I primarily feed my tank frozen food and once in a while will squirt some into the acan colony. You don't have to feed each head and thank god because I would be there all day. lol

well shrimp would be more natural

I feed mine several pieces of mysis every 3 or 4 days... 3 new heads in a minth and a half growth

I don't spot feed my acans and get pretty good growth. Every so often I can see them catch a piece of Mysis/pellet/whatever and chow down on it.

My acans seem to like decent flow and lower light (they are on the sandbed).
