Hi
So I have several BTA and RBTA and they never seem to take the food that I give them... Krill or silversides...what foods do people recommend for the feeds of these anenomes?

thanks Frank

What size are you cutting the krill, silverside too?
I occasionally feed some slices of thawed frozen shrimp.I actually buy the ones on the wooden skewers in the frozen section(cheap).:p
You have to slice stuff quite small, think more like slivers.

Mine take a piece of a silverside, less than 1/3 of a large one. Make sure the thieves in your tank have been fed first, or the shrimp will walk over and steal it.

well yes the cleaner gets the food sometimes, i would expect the BTAS to close around the food. The size is around 1/3 of an inch

thanks

I feed a piece of shrimp about an 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch cube.

Just feed your tank smaller foods like mysis and things along those line will keep it going. I used to feed them silver sides and things along those lines but for the most part they would regurgitated the undigested fish. I then moved back to an old favorite of my own choice minced scallops for occastional treats. My tank goes nuts for scallops. I use a small variety of frozen foods to make a slim lined fish goo. which I feed a couple times a week. IME anemones react best to smaller foods.

i feed my bigger RBTA thawed shrimp. my little RBTA one eat tho

i feed my bta's with frozen brine shrimp cubes, i rub it in my fingers to make it not frozen and then some of the scavengers will eat that stuff. then i just place the cube in the tentacles. Idk i hand feed everything in my tank.

Mine will take two or three silversides at a time and so far my wife and I haven't seen it regurgitate any of it. It seems to be a real good eater.

When it was small we used to feed it baby brine shrimp and then moved up to mysis as it grew. It's grown to almost the size of a dinner plate now.

I have (4) RBTAs, each about 3-4" disc when expanded. They eat Mackerel. I bought a whole frozen fish ( 10") and I slice it into small strips - sometimes rolled in cyclopeez.

I feed my 2 bta's 1/2 each of a large silverside or a whole small one. I use tongs to put it near them then let them attach on to it.

I also use a turkey baster and feed mysis shrimp to the anenome.
It's kind of funny how they eat their whole arm to get the shrimp then spit it out.:D
